Of the three oem hard fuel lines I m using the thick one for the fuel out to engine the middle one is the fuel return line and I m not using the thinnest hard line at all.

2011-5-3 · My gas cap has the vent hole but the tank does not so any venting will just go out right there at the gas cap. I don t think that s a problem unless occasionally some liquid makes it through the vent (like dropping the bike off road) then there would be a little bit of gas around the cap which on my 2016 would normally go through a second drain tube out below the bike onto the ground.
2008-8-24 · a non vented cap can collapse a tank in a diesel truck. the pumps keep pumping and eventually collapse the tank. You cant vent a gas tank cause it will evaporate into the air i have this problem with my fuel cell in my Jeep. It always stinks esp with the top on i have the cell behind the back seat. Im still looking for a way to vent it properly.

It s just a plastic sleeve with a grub screw at the top. I guess the idea is the grub screw fits a bit loose and air is pulled by the treads as the tank goes negative atmosphere.
Vented gas caps The fuel system is air locking the old oil cap seals the tank tight causing the flow of gas to the carburetor to slow down and eventually stop. Piercing a hole in the makeshift oil cap will fix the stalling issue but fuel may seep from around the vent holes.

Same thing happened to me but I believe my A1000 pump and the large amount of return fuel from my regulator contributed to my problem almost blew the cap across the gas station when I spun the cap off real fast once.

If you want an open vent cap then get a pick and root around in the hole in the center of the cap and pull out the small hair spring in there.
